Overview
Honos is god of duty, truth, honor, and vigilance. Sentinels, warriors, judges, oathkeepers, guards, and protectors of the vulnerable invoke him when resolve must outlast fear.
Divine Role
Beral formed Honos from righteousness, bravery, and the need for reliable guardianship. His symbol is a steadfast shield marked by a crossing sword, a reminder that defense is sacred when it protects the innocent.
Honos demands sincerity and fairness. He despises treachery, false oaths, and the deliberate corruption of trust.
Oaths and Guardians
Honos has fewer worshipers than some gods, but his influence reaches far. Many who never enter his temples still swear by his name when taking office, guarding a gate, signing a treaty, or promising protection.
In peace, his faithful are pillars of justice. In war, they become commanders, defenders, and last lines against chaos.
Campaign Use
- Use Honos when a vow creates both strength and constraint.
- Pair him with Adate when truth, testimony, and deception collide.
- Let his faithful face hard choices where every honorable option costs something.
