Overview
In the heart of a continent teeming with history and mystique, cradled within a diverse landscape of rugged mountains, sweeping plains, and sheltered valleys, lies the storied realm of Tianzhu. This ancient land, long an epicenter of trade and culture, owes its prominence to its favorable locale and bountiful natural wealth. The capital city, Cathai, gleams like a jewel encrusted in the embracing mountainside, mirrored in the tranquil surface of the Copper Lake below, a testament to its renown as a marvel among the world's great cities.
Nestled within the realm's heart is the shimmering expanse of the Copper Lake, an opulent reservoir of valuable ores, not least among them the eponymous copper that pulses through the land's lifeblood. These prosperous veins have long since lined the coffers of the ruling dynasty, financing their endeavors to safeguard and expand the borders of Tianzhu.
A lineage divine in descent, the imperial family has governed Tianzhu for countless generations. The reigning dynasty, the esteemed Zhou, have maintained an unbroken chain of rule for over four centuries, their sagacious leadership fostering a climate of stability and prosperity that commands the deep respect of their subjects.
Yet, beneath the tranquil façade of this realm, lurks the memory of blood and steel. The saga of the Battle of Dragon Plain, a pitched conflict fought in a time long past, echoes through the halls of history. The orcish horde, led by the fearsome Warchief Skarr, had swept down from the north, their intentions set on the conquest of Tianzhu. Yet, they were met on the battlefield by the indomitable Zhou forces, led by the valiant Emperor Shi.
In the face of overwhelming odds, the Zhou fought with a tenacity borne of desperation and courage. The battle raged, the verdant plains of Dragon Plain stained crimson with the blood of the fallen. Eventually, through determination and superior strategy, the Zhou turned the tide, achieving a hard-fought victory that would mark a turning point in their struggle against the orcish invaders.
Honoring this heroic victory, and to fortify against further onslaughts, the Zhou erected the Eternal Walls, a grand bulwark stretching from the tranquil shores of the Lake of Swords in the north to the foreboding mountains known as the Tail of the Dragon in the south.
The pulsating rhythm of commerce is the beating heart of Tianzhu, with caravans laden with precious minerals, sumptuous silks, and delicate porcelain, journeying to distant corners of the world. The majestic forests that cloak the land's rugged spine yield timber, while the serpentine rivers teem with fish, further bolstering the region's economic vitality.
Intricate networks of trade routes spiderweb across the land, each a vein of prosperity that nourishes the body of the realm. The markets of Cathai bustle with vibrant activity, an orchestration of diverse sounds, sights, and scents. Traders, artisans, and scholars mingle, their collective energy lending a pulsating vibrancy to the city's air.
In the present day, Tianzhu stands as a vibrant testament to its past triumphs and enduring spirit. The Zhou continue their just rule, maintaining an environment that fosters the growth of artistry, commerce, and spirituality.
